Latisse® Eye Lash Topical
What are the indications for use?
Latisse® is regulated by Health Canada and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario mandate that a patient must be seen by a licensed qualified physician prior to initiating use. Latisse has been approved for the lengthening and thickening of inadequate eyelashes, a condition called hypotrichosis. Not only do natural lashes get longer and thicker, they also get darker which is appreciated by clients with blond or light coloured lashes. It is a prostaglandin analog that works by keeping the lashes in the growth (Anagen) phase for longer than usual.
Latisse® is applied nightly by the patient themselves to the base of the upper lashes (like putting on liquid eyeliner). Disposable applicators are provided with the product. It takes approximately eight weeks to work. It is not covered by insurance plans.
Latisse® should not be used by clients with certain eye conditions or medical conditions and there are potential complications. Latisse® should be provided only through a medical clinic under medical consultation and supervision. Dr. Wong will see you personally in consultation and discuss if this treatment is right for you.
