OxyGeneo facials exfoliate the skin’s surface, infuse the skin with active ingredients and oxygenate the dermal layers. Combining everything into one, the treatment replaces the need for individual infusion treatments, oxygenating facials, microdermabrasion and/or chemical peels.
Currently OxyGeneo has two types of facials: NeoRevive, skin rejuvenation that balances and reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and uneven texture from aging; and NeoBright, which provides skin lightening and oxygenation for clients with pigmentation and sun damage.
HOW IT WORKS Inspired by the idea of hot springs, which naturally oxygenate the skin, the Capsugen capsule tip, made of sodium bicarbonate, citric acid and other minerals, initially exfoliates the upper skin on the face. This removes dead skin cells and preps the face for infusion. The Capsugen is then used to cleanse the skin. The active product is infused via the applicator tip as it then produces the Bohr effect, which is similar to carboxyl techniques (when the body produces oxygen in body tissue because it detects carbon dioxide). The dermal oxygenation allows for the maximum absorption of the skin-care formulas unique to NeoBright and NeoRevive. During treatment you feel a slight tingling on the face, similar to the intensity of a lactic acid peel. Those with recent sun exposure will experience a more intense tingling. Patients are also asked to stop using retinol before they get their first treatment done.
TREATMENT PROTOCOL Each treatment lasts 30 minutes, but many places have created a spa experience that last for an hour, such as Glow Medi Spa in Toronto’s Yorkville. This begins with a thorough cleansing, then the 30-minute OxyGeneo exfoliation, infusion and oxygenation process and a makeup application. The shorter protocol is still available for clients who want a shorter facial. To get results, a series of treatments customized to one’s skin conditions is determined on the first visit. OxyGeneo can also be incorporated with other protocols, such as injectables, photorejuvenation or IPL.

RESULTS Skin feels softer after the first treatment, especially on the exfoliation front. Brightening and antiaging benefits are to be seen more conclusively after five treatments.
