Tummy Time, What's new around the belt.

Have you lost your baby weight but still have mummy tummy? Advances in the non-surgical department are zoning in on your droopy stomach. Diane Wong, a doctor in Toronto and the owner of Glow Medi Spa, is enthusiastic about body sculpting via the Maximus machine, which was approved for use in Canada last year. It uses a combination of heat via radio frequency, and dynamic muscle contractions (that feel like a TENS machine in physiotherapy) to treat both the surface and deeper layers of the skin and muscle. This results in collagen stimulation for skin tightening, and causes fat to liquefy in the cells. The fat is then processed by the liver. "Ten years ago, if you'd told me this was possible, I'd say, 'You've got to be kidding," says Wong. "It helps with fat reduction, improves the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks - a lot of things that postpartum women deal with."
